whew, what a week

see what i meant about not being able to update very often? yeah. it's been a busy couple of weeks. i finally got my gates application put together and sent off on wednesday afternoon. the application for cambridge really is ridiculously involved; there are specific numbers of everything, and they have to be packed in a particular order. and working on all the essays takes a long time, and it doesn't help to know that the chances of getting this scholarship are pretty slim. even getting an interview is a competitive process, and i won't find out if i've got one until january or february. so fingers crossed that this time next year i'll be in jolly old england.

i had two midterms this week on thursday and friday, so thankfully after the application was due. fluid dynamics went better than expected, but i definitely did a lot of studying. but tomorrow morning i'm heading up to d.c. to visit some friends, so getting away from tech for awhile.

let's see... did some mad cleaning yesterday and today - things got pretty bad since we were all so busy with mid-terms. but now the house is vaccuumed, the kitchen is clean, and i have clean clothes. weee. did some grading too because i have a backlog of 3 labs and a quiz for each of my lab sections.

oh yeah! we won the football game today vs duke (24-7). we didn't make the spread, but you can thank the shitty ACC referees for that one. i have never seen such a poorly called game in my life. it was unbelievable. let's just say i did more than my share of cursing. i hope they get fired.

i'm going to go watch more football now, maybe even get some homework done. yay productivity.
